Demonstrating at Hickstead with West Sussex Riding Club
I had the pleasure of attending Hickstead recently to deliver a showjumping demonstration for the members of West Sussex Riding Club — a fantastic opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for the sport.
During the session, I covered a range of useful tips, including effective flatwork exercises, how to properly warm up and cool down before and after entering the arena, and most importantly, techniques for keeping your horse calm and focused — even with spectators seated so close to the action.
It was a real pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic riders, answer a wide variety of great questions, and connect with new faces in the local equestrian community.
Of course, the real star of the show was Superstar (Big Star x Spirit T), who absolutely rose to the occasion, jumping some fantastic rounds whilst soaking up the atmosphere.
